For sixteen years, the Days of BHAAAS have been a substantial, high-quality, and successful conference.
Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences was founded in Charlotte, North Carolina, on November 3, 2007.
Air pollution continues to be one of the most serious public health challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with long-term consequences for the health of the population, especially in urban areas. On this topic, Prof. Dr. Nedžad Haračić, a long-time expert in the field of air quality control and a new member of BHAAAS, spoke for Hayat TV.
We remember Dr. Faruk Turkić, an outstanding pathologist and physician who passed away on September 10, 2025. For more than 50 years, he was devoted to pathology, serving for many years as Head of the Department of Pathology at Zenica Cantonal Hospital, and later continuing his work at Tešanj General Hospital. He made a particularly important contribution during and after the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, working on exhumations and the identification of victims. His humanistic mission is continued today by his daughter Majda Turkić, a long-standing member of BHAAAS.

The Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), a respected and non-partisan organization bringing together scientists, physicians, engineers, and artists of Bosnian and Herzegovinian origin in the United States, has issued a statement in response to recent political remarks and institutional challenges concerning Bosnia and Herzegovina and its position in the international context.
BHAAAS Days are the most important activity organized by the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Over the years, BHAAAS Days have grown into a respected international conference.
Over the past 16 years, this event has brought together more than 1,000 participants from 30 countries through numerous symposiums, special events, and a dedicated student program.
BHAAAS Days are a platform for networking, unforgettable encounters, and the exchange of ideas between local and international experts from various fields of science and art.
After 16 successful conferences, BHAAAS proudly continues building bridges between the homeland and the world.

Our member, Dr. Sanda Vujnić, prepared an article on the occasion of September 13, World Sepsis Day, with the aim of raising public awareness about this serious and often overlooked health threat. Carolyn Dorfman Dance presents Prologue: A Dance of Hope - The Story of Max Heller, a powerful fusion of dance, music, and theater.
