The Vision of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS) is to become a leading network for professional and academic advancement of future generations of Bosnian-Herzegovinian-Americans, Bosnian-Herzegovinians and friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina throughout the world.

As part of the USAID "Diaspora Invest" project, we continue to carry out mentoring support activities for companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our goal is to connect experts from the diaspora with domestic companies, provide free mentorship, trainings and offer expertise in order to improve products and services.
Online meetup "Future building design: Innovations for sustainability and energy efficiency" was held on October 17, 2024, organized by BHAAAS, as part of our collaboration with Rolify (Mozaik foudation): In this interesting lecture, dr. Ajla Akšamija, BHAAAS member, professor at the University of Utah, shared with colleagues and students from Bosnia and Herzegovina her research and examples from practice related to sustainable design in architecture and construction.
In November and December 2024, we organize lectures and talks with entrepreneurs across the country, where BHAAAS experts from diaspora work with companies in different sectors to improve work processes, develop innovative ideas and use new technologies in business. Radiology diagnostics specialist, Dr. Zulejha Merhemić, a long-time member of BHAAAS, has been honored as a Fellow of the European Society of Neuroradiology. Dr. sc. Merhemić, the first person from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to achieve this prestigious level of membership, has been actively contributing to the development and promotion of the medical field for over 20 years. In addition to her work in BiH, she has made a significant impact as a visiting professor at foreign universities, sharing her extensive knowledge and experience with students and colleagues.
