BH diaspora accounts for more than 2 million well-integrated individuals, some of which are affiliated with leading universities worldwide. Engaging those diaspora members to transfer experiences, know-how and professional connections, combined with the tradition of BH universities, outstanding examples of excellence, a solid educational basis and the motivation and talent of local students offers a high potential for rapid scientific and technological advancement of Bosnia and Herzegovina. During this forum, we try to answer questions like “Why is it important to capacitate academic society in BiH?”, “How it can achieve academic excellence and global leadership?”, and “What is required for establishing meaningful international and industry-academia partnerships, and to be able to provide solutions for contemporary issues?”.

Realization of the right to education is a prerequisite for enjoying many other rights, but also a prerequisite for improving the quality of life of all. Inclusion in education is key to achieving high quality education for all, including people with disabilities, as well as to developing inclusive, peaceful and fair societies. In this process, universities have a very important role. Social sensitivity and responsibility are an important task of universities, which through their actions can ensure that society is more open, fairer and more inclusive. By establishing and supporting the work of the Office for Student Support (UPS!), The University of Sarajevo ensures the realization of its vision and mission in this way as well. The main activity of the Office is aimed at providing support to students and developing inclusive culture, policies and practices in the field of higher education.
