Please join the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences for its 13th annual Days of BHAAAS in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This conference will bring together established and emerging scholars from around the world in an effort to exchange ideas and create new initiatives.
The program will consist of presentations by prominent experts and students in a variety of special sessions, round table discussions, and workshops. Many arts and culture events will accompany the scientific program. The format of the meeting will encourage interactions between participants and promote networking opportunities.
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 13th Days of Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), taking place in Sarajevo, June 23rd-26th, 2022.
Days of BHAAAS has grown immensely from its inception in 2009 to become the largest scientific event in B&H and beyond. Not only are we constantly expanding the scope and the quality of our symposia, but we now have a branch of the conference dedicated exclusively to students as well as an impressive arts and culture program.
Since it is our desire to act in lockstep with global trends in education, technology, medicine, and art, this year we are paying special attention to interdisciplinarity as a guiding principle for a modern approach to the academic endeavor. Many of our events and symposia will thus be designed to highlight interdisciplinary advances and developments.
In addition, 13th Days will have sustainability as one of its main themes. This topic will be featured in a number of events and will permeate many of the symposia and accompanying events.
Finally, I would like to make a special appeal to students to join us and take advantage of everything we are planning for them. Sharing ideas, learning from your peers, and networking are integral parts of being a student and a life-long learner. There is no time like now to start nurturing the habit of being immersed in the academic community.
This conference would as usual not be possible without the dedication of the organizing committee and the broader network of symposia organizers, editors, reviewers, partner organizations, and sponsors. We are grateful for your support and hard work.
My goal for this conference is to amplify the message that BHAAAS has been trying to impart for more than a decade – true value, progress, and hope lies in education and the free exchange of ideas. Together we can make this message resonate at the 13th Days of BHAAAS in Sarajevo.
Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), founded in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2007, is a voluntary, non-profit, non-governmental, non-partisan, multi-ethnic, and multi-cultural organization whose purposes are educational, scientific, and charitable. Its members are gathered under the mission of advancement and development of arts and sciences among the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Diaspora in the United States and Canada. BHAAAS also aims to provide connections between Bosnian-Herzegovinian scientists, artists, and professionals in North America and build bridges of cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina in the spirit of intellectual diversity, free exchange of ideas, and the belief that knowledge is shareable wealth. Within this framework, BHAAAS has for over a decade organized a conference titled Days of BHAAAS, held in a different location in Bosnia and Herzegovina each year.
BHAAAS’ main goal is connecting experts and professionals of Bosnian-Herzegovinian Diaspora with their counterparts from Bosnia and Herzegovina and other countries. BHAAAS has been dedicated to bringing top experts of Bosnian-Herzegovinian origin who work at prestigious institutions in the U.S., Canada, and elsewhere, and providing them with the opportunity to share their knowledge and expertise with colleagues and students in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Days of BHAAAS has over the years grown into one of the largest scientific conferences in the Balkans, with hundreds of participants attending lectures in dozens of parallel sessions. We hope to set a new record this year, both in the number of presenters and participants, and hope that you will be able to join us in either capacity.
