World-Class Experts Coming to Sarajevo: IAT 2026 Plenary Speakers

The International Symposium on Innovative and Interdisciplinary Applications of Advanced Technologies (IAT 2026) is traditionally organized as part of the Days of BHAAAS and brings together experts from academia, industry, and research institutions from around the world. The symposium focuses on sharing cutting-edge scientific achievements, connecting specialists across disciplines, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration in the technical and natural sciences.

We are pleased to announce the 17th BHAAAS Days in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As one of the largest annual gatherings of our academic and professional community, the event will once again bring together scientists, innovators, clinicians, artists, engineers, and students from Bosnian diaspora around the world.

When Knowledge Comes Home: The Engagement of Dunja Aksentijević and the Connection Between the Diaspora and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Scientific Community

The story of Dunja Aksentijević Ricciarelli shows how individuals from the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora, through their knowledge, experience, and dedication, can spark meaningful change in science in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Although she has lived and worked in the United Kingdom for more than two decades, Dunja has never broken her connection with BiH. On the contrary—she has actively nurtured it.

BHAAAS Experts Bring Advanced Medical Practices to BiH: Visit of Dr. Azra Sadiković and the Team from the USA

As part of the program “Transfer of Knowledge from Diaspora Experts to Bosnia and Herzegovina,” organized by the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, a team of top medical specialists from the United States is currently in Sarajevo, led by BHAAAS Vice President Dr. Azra Sadiković, specialist in gynecology and subspecialist in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.

Over the years, BHAAAS Days have grown into a respected international conference.

Over the past 16 years, this event has brought together more than 1,000 participants from 30 countries through numerous symposiums, special events, and a dedicated student program.

BHAAAS Days are a platform for networking, unforgettable encounters, and the exchange of ideas between local and international experts from various fields of science and art.

After 16 successful conferences, BHAAAS proudly continues building bridges between the homeland and the world.

Carolyn Dorfman Dance presents Prologue: A Dance of Hope - The Story of Max Heller, a powerful fusion of dance, music, and theater. Featuring electroacoustic compositions by Sarajevo-born composer Svjetlana Bukvich and Bosnian singer Davor Ebner, this project is a cultural bridge between BiH and its US diaspora. Premiering in January 2025, it honors Heller’s legacy as a Holocaust survivor, immigrant, and trailblazing mayor who fought segregation in Greenville, South Carolina.

Admir Mašić, a chemist and scientist originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been promoted to the position of full professor at the famous Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States of America. Admir is a member of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian-American Academy of Arts and Sciences - BHAAAS and the International Academy of Sciences and Arts in BiH - IANUBIH, and he is the winner of this year's WITec Paper award.
