For sixteen years, the Days of BHAAAS have been a substantial, high-quality, and successful conference.
Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences was founded in Charlotte, North Carolina, on November 3, 2007.
The Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival (BHFF) in New York has announced the guests of its 22nd edition, including Aleksandar Hemon, an award-winning Bosnian-American writer, professor of creative writing at Princeton University, and a member of BHAAAS.
The event will take the form of a panel discussion. This topic is of great importance for healthcare professionals and the wider community, particularly oncology patients, highlighting the growing role of molecular diagnostics in modern cancer care.
Within the program of the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, “Knowledge Transfer of Diaspora Experts to Institutions and Public Bodies in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” implemented in cooperation with the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), Dr. Andi Arnautović—a BHAAAS member and one of its founders, a family medicine specialist, and Medical Director at NorthShore Health Centers (Indiana, USA)—visited the Faculty of Health Studies, University of Sarajevo from March 30 to April 3, 2026.
Modern societies are increasingly confronted with various forms of crises - from natural disasters and public health and security threats to political, institutional, and reputational crises.
BHAAAS Days are the most important activity organized by the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Over the years, BHAAAS Days have grown into a respected international conference.
Over the past 16 years, this event has brought together more than 1,000 participants from 30 countries through numerous symposiums, special events, and a dedicated student program.
BHAAAS Days are a platform for networking, unforgettable encounters, and the exchange of ideas between local and international experts from various fields of science and art.
After 16 successful conferences, BHAAAS proudly continues building bridges between the homeland and the world.

Carolyn Dorfman Dance presents Prologue: A Dance of Hope - The Story of Max Heller, a powerful fusion of dance, music, and theater. Featuring electroacoustic compositions by Sarajevo-born composer Svjetlana Bukvich and Bosnian singer Davor Ebner, this project is a cultural bridge between BiH and its US diaspora. Premiering in January 2025, it honors Heller’s legacy as a Holocaust survivor, immigrant, and trailblazing mayor who fought segregation in Greenville, South Carolina.
