BHAAAS is a voluntary non-profit, non-governmental, non-partisan, multi-ethnic, and multi-cultural organization whose purposes are exclusively educational, scientific, and charitable, as defined under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.

The Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), a respected and non-partisan organization bringing together scientists, physicians, engineers, and artists of Bosnian and Herzegovinian origin in the United States, has issued a statement in response to recent political remarks and institutional challenges concerning Bosnia and Herzegovina and its position in the international context.
Prof. Dr. Zlatan Akšamija was recently elected President of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), succeeding Dr. Adnan Begović in this role. As a teenager, he fled war-torn Bosnia and Herzegovina with his family to the United States, where he now lives and has built his academic career. His doctoral dissertation, “Thermal Effects in Semiconductor Materials and Devices,” was supported by a scholarship from the U.S. Department of Energy.
The International Symposium on Innovative and Interdisciplinary Applications of Advanced Technologies (IAT 2026) is traditionally organized as part of the Days of BHAAAS and brings together experts from academia, industry, and research institutions from around the world. The symposium focuses on sharing cutting-edge scientific achievements, connecting specialists across disciplines, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration in the technical and natural sciences.

Over the years, BHAAAS Days have grown into a respected international conference.
Over the past 16 years, this event has brought together more than 1,000 participants from 30 countries through numerous symposiums, special events, and a dedicated student program.
