Bosana 11th Annual Benefit

BHAAAS’ President, Dr. Mahira Tanovic, and former President, Djenita Pasic (2011-2012), were panelists at BOSANA’s 11th Annual Benefit held on March 7, 2020 in Los Angeles, California. The U.S. Ambassador to B&H, His Excellency Eric Nelson, attended the pre-event dinner on Friday and the event on Saturday. He was keenly interested in the work of B&H diaspora in the U.S. and addressed the attendees at the event sending a message of support to our young democracy. We hope that he may attend BHAAAS’ Dani in B&H in Mostar later this year.

We are so proud to announce that, thanks to our magnificent donors, Bosana Foundation has raised $74,474 in total, at the 11th Annual Benefit Event in Los Angeles, last Saturday.

The importance of the Foundation, as well as its programs of cooperation with the US Embassy in BiH, was addressed by US Ambassador to BiH Eric Nelson who flew from BiH especially for this occasion.

Thanks to inspiring BiH Woman’s, highlight of the evening was a panel discussion with Sanja Kulenovic, Majla Custo, Marsela Pecanac, Mahira Tanovic & Djenita Pasic. These successful women who have made their careers in America in senior positions, spoke about the importance of higher education, the position and role of women in their professions, as well as the International Woman’s Day.

The traditional ‘DoGooder Award’ was presented to Djenita Pasic, for her many years of work and contributions to the Foundation, as well as to Bosnia & Herzegovina through her involvement in the BHAAAS.

We are so proud of our sponsors: Authority Partners, Catholic Travel Center and Corigin who covered all costs related to the event so that 100% of the donations would go directly to scholarships for young people in BiH.

At the event, a book written by one of the Bosana students, Benjamin Avdic, along with his colleague Lama Teletovic, “A Hero Without a Cape” was also promoted.

Nearly 200 guests attended the 11th Annual Benefit Event in Los Angeles. Once again, thank you all for coming, raising donations, sponsoring and making the 11th Annual Benefit possible, memorable and unique one.
